Abstract: In this mini-course, we offer a welcoming introduction to the theory of Boltzmann equations. We begin with the spatially homogeneous Boltzmann equation in the classical Grad cutoff setting, presenting a fundamental existence result and the H-Theorem. This provides a basic understanding of the equation’s structure and the role of entropy. We then discuss an existence result in the non-cutoff setting for the spatially inhomogeneous Boltzmann equation.
